ServicingThe DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) is installed in Audi, VW and several other European vehicles. DSG gearboxes are a new development in passenger vehicle transmissions and combine the advantages of a manual type gearbox with automatic shifting, plus a double clutch, all operated by a computer and servo motors. The double clutch is the main innovation in a DSG; it speeds up the gear changes and results in quicker shifts. Servicing is far more involved than a conventional automatic or manual gearbox and must be carried out correctly. We have the fluid and tools to service these units in our workshops. We also have intimate knowledge of the internals since we have been repairing these units for many years now. Like most late model transmissions, the DSG relies heavily on electronics. The Gearbox Factory has the latest diagnostic scan tools available to ensure the control side of your transmission is operating correctly. We update this equipment software regularly, thus enabling our customers to benefit from state of art technology. Feel free to contact us via phone, e-mail or in person for all DSG enquiries. |
